Recommendations for hardwood and carpet care
The best solution for cleaning hardwoods/laminates is the Swiffer Sweeper Vac, the unit with disposable wipes made for hardwood/laminate surfaces. The Swiffer Sweeper Vac can be purchased at any local department or grocery store. If in doubt, defer to A Plus Carpet and Flooring for your flooring care needs.

For regular maintenance (twice weekly), the use of a good quality broom, dust mop, or damp sponge mob, in combination with the following recommended products will wipe away all dirt and grime. High traffic areas, such as foyer entries, mud rooms, breakfast areas should get more regular attention.
Products that can be used:
Mix 1/4 cup of any of the following products with one gallon of water:
- Spic and Span
- Mr. Clean
- Lysol Liquid
- Pine Sol
- Fabuloso
- Windex
- Glass Plus
- Glass Works
- Swiffer products
Products that can NOT be used:
Mix 1/4 cup of any of the following products with one gallon of water:
- Murphy’s Oil Soap
- Paste Wax
- Fantastic
- Formula 409
- Dishwashing Detergent
- Powdered all-purpose cleaners, like Clorox
- Dusting products, like Pledge
- Endust
- Mop ‘n’ Glow
Recommendations for carpet care/cleaning
Have your carpets cleaned semi-annually or annually by A Plus Carpet and Flooring with our truck mounted deep steam cleaning equipment, so you do not void your carpet manufacturer warranty.
If you have a spill
- Add 1oz. of liquid soap (i.e. laundry detergent) to 1 gallon of hot water.
- With a clean white towel, blot the spill (do not rub the spot).
- Rinse the towel and blot until the spot is gone.
- Empty the bucket of dirty water and refill with clean water.
- Blot the spot where the spill was 3 to 4 times with a clean white towel.
- After the spot is gone, put a clean white towel over the area and pat down the damp carpet. If possible, put a fan on the area, then contact A Plus Carpet and Flooring to have your carpet professional cleaned.
